SHAZAM director talks about comedy in superhero genre.
credits: Movieparadise David F. Sandberg short while ago engaged in a fan discussion on Reddit, which theorized if Shazam! will be the DC Extended Universe's first "comedic" film. As per Sandberg, while the content will have its humor, it won't be over-burdened with "quippy jokes."
Sandberg writes "I think it's very funny", "but the humor comes more from the situations rather than quippy one-liners (for people who read too much into things, that's not intended as a dig at Marvel or anyone in particular. Quippy one-liners can be great) The important thing for me is to mix the funny with a threat that's serious and to also have dramatic moments. All funny all the time takes the weight out of it."
This news is certain to amuse a portion of the film's supporters, as it gives fans a thought of exactly how the movie could be. The film being depicted as "Big with superpowers" appears to at present be a quite decent pointer, as it implies that the film will strike a harmony amongst humor and heart.
